Ongoing Operations uses Symantec’s E-mail Archiving solution. This page provides an overview of how Ongoing Operations delivers Hosted Exchange Archiving and some of the key features and benefits.
Email Archiving is the process of capturing, preserving, and making easily searchable all email traffic to and from a given individual, organization, or service. Email archiving solutions capture email content either directly from the email application itself or during transport. For organizations that must meet regulations the latter is most often utilized, as the message is captured by the archive before the end-user can tamper or delete it. The messages are typically then stored on magnetic disk storage and indexed to simplify future searches.
Do all of my employees need E-mail Archiving?
No, you can buy archiving for just the people who need it. Often we find most positions in the organization won’t require it. With OGO’s hosted e-mail archiving, you can pay per user per month for e-mail archiving.
Can I archive all of my messages?
Yes, archiving is providing as an add-on feature. Also, users probably won’t need to archive their e-mail locally anymore as your e-mail boxes will be a lot bigger going forward.
How long are archived messages retained?
Archiving can be for 3 years or 7 years based on each users’ preference. Prices vary accordingly.
What solution does Ongoing Operations hosted e-mail use for Archiving?
Ongoing Operations currently uses Symantec Vault for its archiving solution.
How do I add archiving to an existing e-mail account?
Logon to the Ongoing Operations portal, select the users, and check the box for archiving. Or if you can’t remember another password – call OGO Support and they will happily do it!
Can I remove archiving from an existing e-mail account?
Yes, logon to the OGO portal, select the users, and remove the check box for archiving. Or call the support hotline.
