Credit Union Denial of Service: How do I explain it to my boss?
If you are responsible for IT Risk management or have concerns about how ddos might impact your Credit Union – this post is for you. To begin – here is a quick technical overview of a Disributed Denial of Service (DDOS) attack.

This picture represents the normal every day traffic that occurs either to your website or over your internet connection to your Credit Union. It is well structured, easy for your routers to follow and easy to maintain a normal conversation.
Credit Union DDOS Attack Example
This picture represents what happens in a DDOS attack. All of a sudden a whole bunch of computers start trying to talk to your computers around the same time – Overwhelming your servers and routers and disabling your website, online banking, VPNs, or anything else you have running over the Credit Union internet connection.
