5 Reasons Why Credit Unions in the Cloud is Awesome
Are you eyeing up Cloud as a replacement for your Credit Union IT configuration? This post is for you.
5. Stop Managing the Really Annoying Parts of IT
Have you ever stayed up all night patching or updating a Windows server? If so, I think I have said enough. If not, basically Microsoft will push out updates and changes to their server software that requires installation. The Cloud should manage, patch, and update your servers seamlessly and from a central server.
4. Eliminate IT Capital Expenditures
Most Cloud providers will charge some kind of fee to set up your virtual environment. This number will vary greatly, but should still be significantly cheaper than what a new physical server or licensing of MS Office for the whole office would cost.
3. Upgrade to the Latest & Greatest Apps, Features, Technology, etc
Looking for MS Office 2013? Exchange 2010? SQL Server 2012? They are out there in the Credit Union Cloud marketplace. If you are looking to upgrade a server, now is a great time to look at replacing it with a Cloud contract instead of physically replacing said server.
2. DR is BUILD IN
Anything that is hosted by someone else is by definition not in your office. Should something happen to your office, your data and services should be fine. Now if you can secure a provider with high up-time statistics, you have DR fully covered.
1. Security
Being a shared environment, Cloud Service Providers sink some of that money back into their platform. Sometimes in the form of top-end security hardware/software. Every provider is different, but OGO has top notch appliances and software in our Cloud platform so that our clients have security that they may not have been able to afford if they were doing it in house.
